Labmaze rat wheel rhythm monitoring system


The activity detection wheel system records the spontaneous activity of animals in the cage and is used for circadian rhythm research by placing an activity wheel in the animal breeding environment. The experiment is simple and easy to operate. It is widely used in the study of biological rhythm and activity, the relationship between environmental reinforcement and brain cognition, and the establishment of animal models, such as Huntington's disease, ADHD, drug addiction, anorexia nervosa, etc. The instrument uses a photoelectric sensor to record the number of active laps of the runner, and multiple active wheels can form a set of systems. During data collection, the control unit can set the sampling frequency (such as 10mS for a time collection), and record the total activity time of the animal in the biological clock cycle, the number of laps of the wheel, the average speed, acceleration, and the distribution of peak activity times. The software automatically counts changes in activity over time. The movable wheel is divided into two designs: external and internal.
