Sugar water preference experimental system for rats and mice
Sugar water preference experiment, also known as Two Bottle Choice experiment, is a Ethology experimental method to study drug addiction (oral alcohol) and depressive behavior. Rodents naturally have a preference for sweetness, and when mice exhibit depressive behavior, their preference for sugar water also decreases. Lack of pleasure is an important characteristic of mental illness and behavioral disorders. This is also what most depression patients describe as' the world is gray, I can't feel what happiness is'! Based on this principle, the sugar preference experiment was used to evaluate the depressive behavior of animals and the effect of antidepressants. The sugar water preference experimental system indirectly reflects the water consumption of experimental animals by recording their licking behavior. The software can continuously sample and record the water consumption of animals 24 hours a day, and can perform statistical analysis of water consumption in different time periods.
